Lize Road Financial District with Woods Bagot

International Competition Winner

The competition was to create a new financial district for the Chinese Capital on the second ring road. Key to the competition outcome was the use and capitalization of existing rail station interchanges to create new centres that grew towards each other along the model of Transport Oriented Design principles.

Through traffic was taken below grade and a new public realm for pedestrians and local traffic established. Other key features are an education precinct including space for business start-ups and an extensive ring of open active and passive recreation spaces.
