Belford Irwell Study St Kilda

This study was commissioned by the City of Port Philip to examine the opportunities of agglomerating existing Council carpark land with adjacent private development land. This land was situated behind the iconic strip shopping of Acland Street.

Through a series of analysis maps and character area studies, the study identified opportunities for agglomerating carparking below grade, the creation of new public urban spaces that linked Irwell and Belford streets, improved pedestrian permeability and reduced pressures on the Acland Street retail strip.
